The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' Initially used in commercial settings, microwaves becomes affordable for home use by the 1960s and 1970s, revolutionizing cooking.

Helen was born on June 3, 1921 in Dalton, the daughter of the late Charles and Sadie Wowk Boraski.
Helen was educated in Dalton schools and graduated from the Old Dalton High School, she also attended Becker Junior College.
Helen worked at Crane & Company for 22 years as a secretary retiring in 1983.
She enjoyed reading, writing, traveling and knitting.
Helen married the late James Fraley on September 28, 1946 at St. Agnes Church, James passed away on August 28, 1984. She was predeceased by five brothers Elik, John, Mitch, William and Stanley Boraski, her daughter Janice Fraley and her son in law John 'Dunny' Donovan.
She leaves a brother Nicholas Boraski of Pittsfield, two daughters; Judith Filiault and her husband Ernest of Grand Haven, Michigan, Justine Donovan of Dalton, her grandchildren John and Meg Donovan, Scott, Matthew and Jacqueline Filiault, she also leaves two great...Read MORE...
