Louis Chênet, Chenais, or Chesnay dit La Garenne, son of Bertrand, Sieur de Lothainville and Élisabeth Aubert, born at Québec in August 1678, moved to Port-Royal and married Jeanne, daughter of Barnabé Martin and Jeanne Pelletret, in c1697, when he was only 19, and she was 21. She gave Louis two children, including a son who created a family of his own.
