'Jean Préjean dit Le Breton, born probably in Brittany, France, in c1651, came to Acadia soon after the first census was taken in 1671. In c1683, in his early 30s, he married Andrée, daughter of Francois Savoie, at Port-Royal. He died at Port-Royal in June 1733, in his early 80s. He and Andrée had a dozen children, including eight sons, all born at Port-Royal, who created families of their own.'
