Pioneer Pierre Dancosse (Dancause) passed away on August 13th, 1697, at Québec. He's said to be one of the French-Canadian 'improvised soldiers' led by Father Pierre de Francheville who repulsed an attack by Admiral Phipps at Rivière-Ouelle in 1690.
With wife Madeleine Bouchard he had nine children, all girls except for son Pierre. The couple have a great number of notable descendants including Ryan Gosling, Ricky Gervais, Angelina Jolie and the late Alex Trebek.
