1723 - Église de Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies established at Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies
It was in 1722 that the parish of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnets was officially erected in 1722. Its name, attested for the first time on the occasion of the constitution of the parish, was transmitted to the current municipality. The appellation "Les Aulnets" recalls the presence of a large number of alders along the river Ferrée which crosses the locality. The form Aulnets, has been modified in written usage. Constituent Roch honors Saint Roch of Montpellier, priest and confessor in the south of France, considered the patron saint of carders, whose feast day is celebrated on August 16.
