History of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Québec, Canada

Saint-Roch-des-Aulanies is the oldest municipality in the Regional County Municipality of L'Islet. Indeed, the territory of the current municipality opened up to colonization around 1680, when a group of families settled in the seigniory of Grande-Anse or Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, also known as Les Aulnets. , which had been granted in 1656 to Nicolas Juchereau de Saint-Denis.

It was in 1722 that the parish of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnets was officially erected in 1722.
