"Does anyone have any information on this couple. I have seen a marriage of Nov 10, 1767 in New England and also a marriage of June 23, 1792 in Lacadie. Does anyone have the source information on this couple and who were thier parents. I am trying to link them though their daughter M. Anne Lafaille who married Francois Lord on June 9, 1806 also in Lacadie. There daughter M. Olive Lord married Francois Boudreau on Oct 19, 1830 also in Lacadie. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

"The marriage in 1792 was a "rehabilitated" marriage. They were married in 1767 by a Justice of the Peace possibly in Massachusetts. They had several children in the colonies that were re-baptized in the 1790's in Quebec.

The parents of Marguerite Forest are Jacques Forest & Marie Josephe LePrince, according to a baptismal record dated 16 Jan 1748 Port Royal, Acadie. I'm searching for Francois Lafaye's parents with no luck...yet.

There appears to be two Marie Lafaille's (sisters)who both married a Lord. (1)Marie Lafalle m. 10 aug 1789 (L'Acadie, St. Jean, Quebec) to Honore Lord.

The second Marie Anne Lafaille m. 6 Jun 1806 L'Acadie to Francois Lord. I have a Marie Olive Lord b. 6 Oct 1808 L'Acadie with this marriage...

Honore & Francois Lord appear to be brothers...sons of Honore Lord & Appolline Garseault. Interestingly Honore Lord (the father) remarried after his wife Appolline Garseault died. He remarried Suzanne Lafaye in 1790 who was the sister of the two Marie's listed above...I'm still trying to figure this out for myself but this is what I have found so far..."

"In my records, based on PRDH, François Faille, son of François Faille and Marie-Anne Brosseau, born 05 Nov 1741 and baptised that day at Nativité-de-la-Sainte-Vierge, Laprairie, married Marie-Anne Hébert, daughter of Armand [Amand] Hébert and Françoise Gotreau, from Acadie [not L'Acadie St-Jean, but the Maritime Province] on 02 Jun 1783 at the same parish.

The Drouin photocopy [15-30] of the record of the marriage of François Lafay and Marguerite Forest indicates that they exchanged promises

before a Justice of the Peace in the Colonies, "faute de prêtre" [there being no priest] in 1767, and that union was regularized by a new

exchange of vows in proper canonical form on 23 June 1792. Although the names of the parents of the parties are not mentioned, I am certain

that this was not the same François who married Marie-Anne Hébert at Laprairie."
