Jean-Baptiste  married  Ursule BRUNET dite LASABLONNIÈRE 29 July 1754 in Contrecœur, Canada, New France .  Ursule BRUNET dite LASABLONNIÈRE  was born 25 April 1734 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Ursule died 22 May 1758 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Ursule was the child of Jacques BRUNET dit LASABLONNIÈRE and Marie-Catherine BOURGAULT.

Jean-Baptiste  married  (2) Marie-Agathe CHAMBERLAND 5 February 1759 in Contrecœur, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 2 children.
Marie-Agathe CHAMBERLAND  was born 24 April 1737 in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, Québec, Canada.  Marie-Agathe died 21 January 1775 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Marie-Agathe was the child of Jean CHAMBERLAND and Marguerite-Angélique LEFEBVRE dite BOULANGER.

Jean-Baptiste  married  (3) Marie-Anne MICHON 14 April 1777 in Contrecœur, Province of Québec, Canada .  Marie-Anne MICHON  was born 19 April 1739 in Montmagny, Québec, Canada (Saint-Thomas) (Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire).  Marie-Anne died 9 November 1803 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Marie-Anne was the child of Charles MICHON and Marie-Anne DUFRESNE.

Jean-Baptiste GREGOIRE dit VALENTIN died 11 July 1812 in Contrecœur, Lower Canada .

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
