Obituary
Mr. John Farrar, an Englishman and resident of this village, was drowned last Saturday evening, in the old canal, opposite Buffum's island. He went in to bathe, and is supposed to have had a fit while in the water, which in that locality is only about four feet deep. He was rescued after being in but a few minutes; physicians were called to his assistance, and he was thought in a fair way of recovery, but died during the night. Mr. Farrar was a worthy man, and possessed of considerable property. His age was about 50.
