Biography
Jean, born in c1646, also a farmer, married Marguerite, daughter of Pierre Martin, at Port-Royal in c1667. They had nine children, including two sons who married into the Barillot, Aucoin, and Michel families. Their daughters married into the Thibodeau, Naquin dit L'Étoile, Dubois, Robichaud dit Cadet, Gaudet, Turpin dit La Giroflée, Triel dit Triquel dit Patron, and Guérin dit Laforge families. Jean died at Port-Royal between 1693 and 1698. One of his sons, Jean-Baptiste, settled at Cobeguit. By the early 1750s, Jean-Baptiste, his sons, and younger brother Louis had moved on to Île St.-Jean, today's Prince Edward Island, where a cousin had settled in the 1730s. Jean-Baptiste died on Île St.-Jean in February 1757, age 74.
