Dorothea Ann Spriester (nee Zarbock), 79, of Deerfield, Ill., died March 15, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Alfred, of 57 years; sons, Ron (Sharon) and Bart (Mary); daughters, Pam (Paul) Bell, Sandy (Carl) Markowitz, Laurie (Russ) Davis and Terri (George) Gibson; 13 grandchildren; brother Floyd (Nancy); and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothea Zarbock; brother, Roy; and sisters, Dorma Bartlett and Naomi Shroeter. Dorothy was born and raised in Wheaton, Ill., and baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Dorothy was recognized as a champion twirler and a member of the Joliet All Star Twirling Club and twirled for the Naperville City Band. She attended the Wheaton public schools playing French horn and leading the marching band as drum majorette for three years, graduating from Wheaton High School in 1947.
