Françoise HÉBERT was the child of Étienne HÉBERT and Marie GAUDET
"Jean was born in 1657 and died at Port-Royal on 13 November 1720. he married about 1677 to Francoise Hebert, daughter of Etienne and of Marie Gaudet. He remarried at Port-Royal on 7 January 1720 to Catherine Joseph, daughter of Francois and Jeanne Le Jeune "from the savage nation." He had seven daughters and eight sons from the first marriage and one daughter from the second."

"Jean l'âiné, born in c1656, married first to Francoise, daughter of Etienne Hébert, who gave him 19 children, including seven sons who married into the Bézier dit Joan dit Larivière, Forest, Levron, Thibodeau, Soulard, Bertrand, and Girouard families. Seven of their daughters married into the Girouard, D'Amours de Chauffours, Richard, Soulard, Trahan, Melanson, and Gisé dit Des Rosiers families. In 1717, after Francoise died, Jean l'âiné was recorded at Port-Toulouse, Île Royale, now Cape Breton Island, having gone there probably to escape British authority in Nova Scotia, but he returned soon afterwards to Port-Royal, where he remarried to Catherine-Josèphe, daughter of Francois Lejeune, at Port-Royal in January 1720 and fathered a twentieth child, a daughter who was born in November 1720, a week after Jean l'âiné was buried at Port-Royal. She married into the Daniel family at Grand-Pré."

In August 1695, English authorities imposed on the Acadian inhabitants at Port-Royal an oath of allegiance to King William III. Many family heads signed or made their marks on the document that attested to their having taken the oath.
