Louis Jacques was born on April 23, 1664 in Saint-Michel d'Amiens in Picardy. Son of master carpenter Nicolas Jacques and Marie Soyer, he married Antoinette Leroux (18), son of François Leroux and Marie Renaud, on May 17, 1688 in Quebec. From their union were born 10 children. He is a master carpenter. He settled in Bourg-Royal, in the seigneury of Notre-Dame-des-Anges. He died in Charlesbourg on February 20, 1735. His wife died in Charlesbourg on April 21, 1739.
