Louis  married  Marie-Marguerite NADEAU 19 June 1787 in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, Province of Québec, Canada .  The couple had (at least) 3 children.
Marie-Marguerite NADEAU  was born 12 October 1769 in Berthier-sur-Mer, Québec, Canada (Berthier-en-Bas) (Berthier).  Marie-Marguerite died 9 September 1812 in Les Éboulements, Québec, Canada (Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption-des-Eboulements).  Marie-Marguerite was the child of Jean-Baptiste NADEAU and Marie-Josephe BALAN dite LACOMBE.

Louis MARTEL died 15 January 1838 in Baie-Saint-Paul, Lower Canada .
