She was employed by St. Thomas Aquinas College Sparkill, NY

She is survived by her husband: Michael Brian Whelan, two daughters: Aine (Cathal Scanlon) Whelan, Lillian and one son: William; her mother Lillian (Carfora) Slattery; Three sisters: Mary (Larry) Bennett, Joni (Mike) Harten, Antonia (Robert) Sambevski and three brothers: Dennis (Julie) Slattery, Louis Slattery, Joseph (Sherri) Slattery; She also has one grandchild; Granddaughter, Jennifer Scanlon, and many Nieces and Nephews.
