Dana Winslow Thomas, age 89, of Alton, passed away December 30, 2017 at Wolfeboro Bay Center, surrounded by his loving family.


Born September 13, 1928 in Newton, Massachusetts, son of Harold William Thomas and Marion (Bean) Thomas, he resided in Belmont, Massachusetts, a graduate of Belmont, MA High School, and also resided in Newton, MA. He resided in Alton since 1962. Dana grew up coming to Lake Winnipesaukee, having summered here since the 1930s. He was a builder of wooden runabout boats, racing on the Big Lake in younger years.

A United States Army Veteran, he served during the Korean war.

Dana was a retired automotive technician, he had worked at McGreevy’s and Cantin’s in Laconia and at Banks in Concord.

Survived by his wife of 60 years Nancy (Stewart) Thomas and their 5 children: Elaine Thomas of Farmington, Joanne Thomas of Laconia, Brad Thomas of Westbrook, ME, Annette Thomas of San Diego, CA, and Mark Thomas of Alton. He is also survived by...Read MORE...
