“Funeral services for Clyde Butler, who died at his home in Wheeling Thursday morning, will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, January 11, at the Christian church in Wheeling. Burial will be made there.

Mr. Butler was the collector for Wheeling. He and Mrs. Butler, who was formerly Miss Faye Tompkins, are both well known in Chillicothe.” The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, January 10, 1930

“Gloom was cast over the entire community Thursday morning when the news was spread that Clyde Butler had passed away at his home here after an illness of only a few days of pneumonia.

The funeral services were held from the Christian church Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. amid a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends and were conducted by Rev. Teamey of Monroe City, after which the beautiful and impressive ritualistic of the Masonic order, of which the deceased was a member, was rendered at the church. District Deputy Grand Master, F.L.
