Jean-Baptiste BOURQUE (BOURG)  was born 17 February 1772 in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada.  Jean-Baptiste died 4 December 1809 in La Présentation, Québec, Canada (La Presentation-de-la-Sainte-Vierge) .  Jean-Baptiste was the child of Claude BOURG and Marie GUILBAULT.

Marie-Elisabeth  married  (2) Jean-Baptiste DAUPHINAIS dit PHENIX 14 June 1810 in La Présentation, Lower Canada .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Jean-Baptiste DAUPHINAIS dit PHENIX  was born abt. 1778 in Québec Province, Canada (Quebec).  Jean-Baptiste died 1 February 1814 in La Présentation, Québec, Canada (La Presentation-de-la-Sainte-Vierge) .  Jean-Baptiste was the child of François-Amable DAUPHINAIS dit PHENIX and Francoise BRUNEAU.

Marie-Elisabeth  married  (3) Michel LARIVIERE dit CHAPDELAINE 13 February 1816 in La Présentation, Lower Canada .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Michel LARIVIERE dit CHAPDELAINE  was born 3 August 1792 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada (Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire, Saint-Hyacinthe-le-Confesseur).  Michel was the child of Pierre-Jean-Baptiste CHAPDELAINE and Francoise GARAND.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
