Irene D. Merritt, 78, of Emmaus, passed away Tuesday January 25, 2005 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. Her husband, Hobart D. Merritt Sr., died on January 15, 1994. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Gwilym and Edna (Brough) Davies. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus, where she was active in the SALT Group. She was employed as the office manager of Roma Development Co., Allentown, for 22 years before retiring in 1989.

Survivors: Son, Hobart D. Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Emmaus; sister, Sharon Richards; brother, Gwilym Davies; grandchildren, Andrew, Lcpl. Daniel, and Kayla.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Faith Presbyterian Church, N. Second and Cherokee streets, Emmaus. Call 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church.

Interment in Northwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
