Député du comté de Surrey au Parlement du Bas-Canada en 1813, 1814, 1816, 1820, 1824 et 1827. Puis, député de Verchères en 1830 et 1834. Vota pour les Quatre-vingt-douze Résolutions en 1834. Prit part à la bataille des Patriotes à Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu en 1837.
