"Thomas Hayot and Jeanne Boucher, sister of Marin Boucher, the ancestor of the greatest number of the Boucher families in America, were married at Saint-Jean de Mortagne in Perche (Orne) on 15 July 1629. The names of the parents of the married couple unfortunately are not mentioned in the parish registry. The best that we know is that Thomas came from the parish of Soligny."

'...Jeanne became ill and on 14 January 1670, Romain Becquet drew up her last will and testament. She mist have died a short time later, since on the following 8 September, at the home of the same notary, Thomas contracted to marry a 'daughter of the King,' one Marthe Raudy, born at Saint-Gervais in Paris and daughter of Nicolas and the late Anne Bobel... According to Silvio Dumas, this contract was not carried out and we find no trace of Marthe after 1670.'
