'Jean Sicot, son of Jean and of Marguerite Maclin, was hired to go to the West in 1690 and 1692. On 20 March 1697 at Boucherville, he promised to be faithful to Marie-Madeleine Lamoureux. Ten children were given to this couple from Boucherville, three of whom repeated their father's exploits by working out West in the fur trade.'
