Marie Magdalene 'Marlene' Dietrich (/ mɑːrˈleɪnə ˈdiːtrɪk/ , German pronunciation: [maɐ̯ˈleːnə ˈdiːtʁɪç]; 27 December 1901 – 6 May 1992)[1] was a German actress and singer who held both German and American citizenship.
