Marie-Anne PEPIN dite LACHANCE  was born 12 July 1698 in Saint-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Québec, Canada (Saint-Jean).  Marie-Anne died 5 November 1737 in Sorel, Québec, Canada (Saint-Pierre).  Marie-Anne was the child of Jean PEPIN dit LACHANCE and Renee GUYON.

Germain  married  (2) Suzanne DESROCHES 3 February 1738 in Rivière-des-Prairies, Montréal, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Suzanne DESROCHES  was born 22 March 1697 in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montréal, Québec, Canada* (L'Enfant-Jésus-de-la-Pointe-aux-Trembles).  Suzanne died 16 July 1748 in Sorel, Québec, Canada (Saint-Pierre).  Suzanne was the child of Jean DESROCHES and Marie BEAUCHAMP.

Germain  married  (3) Marie-Louise MANDEVILLE 10 September 1753 in Sorel, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 3 children.
Marie-Louise MANDEVILLE  was born 20 October 1722 in Sorel, Québec, Canada (Saint-Pierre).  Marie-Louise died 25 May 1767 in Sorel, Québec, Canada (Saint-Pierre).  Marie-Louise was the child of Pierre MANDEVILLE and Marie-Louise LANIEL DESROSIERS.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
