Sailed from England on the ship 'Diana' and embarked at James City [Jamestown] (January 1624 ship's muster names him as Thomas Jordan) in 1623/ 24 where he was a soldier in the Governor's guard (Governor's Man). A patent for 900 acres was issued to Thomas Jordan in the County of Warisoyack [renamed Isle of Wight in 1637] on 2 July 1635. He represented that county in the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1628, 1629 and 1632. His parents were Captain Samuel Jordan and Frances Ann Baker. The name of his wife was possibly Lucy Corker. He was the father of Thomas (II)*, and Margaret [married James Davis - They relocated to Maryland].
Thomas Jordan received a grant for 900 acres in Warwasquioke Co. (Isle of Wight Co.), Va., 2 July 1635, 'near the headwaters of Warrosquoak River on west side of an old Indian Towne into the woods a mile and down to Cross Creek.'
