Jean-Baptiste  married  Marie-Josephe DUFAULT 5 October 1767 in Saint-Ours, Province of Québec, Canada .  Marie-Josephe DUFAULT  was born 20 May 1748 in Sorel, Québec, Canada (Saint-Pierre).  Marie-Josephe died 10 June 1778 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception).  Marie-Josephe was the child of Joseph DUFAULT and Marie-Josephe ALLAIRE.

Jean-Baptiste  married  (2) Madeleine LEBLANC 15 November 1779 in Saint-Ours, Province of Québec, Canada .  The couple had (at least) 2 children.
Madeleine LEBLANC  was born 21 April 1741 in Annapolis Royal, Annapolis, Nova Scotia, Canada (Port Royal, Acadia).  Madeleine was the child of Jean Simon LEBLANC and Jeanne DUPUIS.

Jean-Baptiste  married  (3) Amable PLOUFFE .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Amable PLOUFFE  was born 9 March 1781 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception).  Amable died 30 April 1832 in Saint-Hugues, Québec, Canada.  Amable was the child of Hippolyte-Paul PLOUFFE and Marie-Amable-Madeleine DUPRÉ.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
