'Marie-Madeleine, baptized at Quebec on the first of June 1642; buried in the church of the Recollets in the same city, on 22 September 1712. Married also at Quebec on 29 October 1656, to Louis Fontaine... On 12 November 1693 (Chambalon), Madeleine had accepted a marriage contract with the Flemish sailor Jean Girard; the contract was annulled on the following 10 January. Nevertheless, she was remarried at Quebec on 2 May 1703 (contract Genaple, the day before), to Jean Le Normand, carpenter (1638-1706), widower of Anne Le Laboureur, and son of Jean Le Normand and of Leonarde Joinault.'
