Marguerite BOISSEL  was born 27 December 1696 in Montmagny, Québec, Canada (Saint-Thomas) (Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire).  Marguerite died 3 December 1730 in Québec, Québec, Canada (Quebec City).  Marguerite was the child of Claude BOISSEL and Marguerite MORIN.

Louis  married  (2) Marie-Anne GAGNON 11 May 1732 in Québec, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Marie-Anne GAGNON  was born 20 June 1697 in Château-Richer, Québec, Canada (La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame de Chateau-Richer).  Marie-Anne died 7 December 1785 in Québec, Québec, Canada (Quebec City).  Marie-Anne was the child of Vincent GAGNON and Marie-Anne DAVID.

Louis  married  (3) Marie-Charlotte RAINVILLE 25 October 1745 in Québec, Canada, New France .  Marie-Charlotte RAINVILLE  was born 1 November 1695 in Beauport, Québec, Québec, Canada (Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité-de-Beauport).  Marie-Charlotte died 13 March 1750 in Québec, Québec, Canada (Quebec City).  Marie-Charlotte was the child of Jean-Baptiste RAINVILLE and Marguerite VALLEE.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
