Biography
Oscar Wilde was a flamboyant and brilliant Irish writer, poet, and playwright who lived during the late 19th century. Born on October 16, 1854, in Dublin, Ireland, Wilde was the second son of Sir William Wilde, a renowned eye and ear surgeon, and Jane Wilde, a poet and nationalist.

Wilde was a bright and witty child from an early age, showing a keen interest in literature and the arts. He attended Portora Royal School and later studied classics at Trinity College, Dublin. His sharp intellect and clever wit quickly set him apart, and he became known for his flamboyant personality and distinctive fashion sense.

After graduating from Oxford in 1878, Wilde moved to London, where he established himself as a prominent figure in literary and social circles. His first major literary success came with the publication of his poetry collection, 'Poems,' in 1881. However, it was his plays that brought him widespread acclaim and success.
