MANVILLE -Armand W. 'Lem' Glaude, 95, formerly Manville died Tuesday aftertax noon surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Fernande (Laliberte) Glaude. They were married in 1944 and shared over 56 years together until her passing in 2000.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Ovila and Verginie (Beausoleil) Glaude. He was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Manville since 1944. In recent years he lived in Greenville.
Mr. Glaude served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was in the 118th Combat Engineer Battalion of the 43rd Infantry Division. As a Combat Engineer in the Pacific Theater he saw active duty at Guadalcanal, Leyte Gulf, Luzon, Manilla, New Caledonia, New Zealand and New Georgia. He was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and American Service Medal.
Mr. Glaude was employed at Enterprise Dye Company in Woonsocket for over 36 years before retiring in 1981. In
