Donald F. Fletcher, retired schoolteacher

WILLIAMSTOWN Donald Frank Fletcher, 68, of 101 Wood Road, Ballston Spa, N.Y., formerly of Williamstown, died Sunday in Hadley after being stricken while - with his wife and friends. Born in Williamstown on Nov. 3, 1927, son of Frank and Florence Eastwood Fletcher, he graduated from the former Williamstown High School in 1945 and immediately entered the Navy, from which he was honorably discharged in 1948. Mr. Fletcher held a variety of positions with Mount Hope Farm, Neisner's, Sears Roebuck, and the Pittsfield Social Services Department.- He earned a bachelor's degree in education from North Adams State College in 1964 and taught elementary grades in the Half Hollow Hills District, Melville, N.Y., from 1965 until moving to Ballston Spa in 1970.. He taught 5th grade in the Ballston Spa School District until he retired from teaching in 1989.
