Joseph  married  Thérèse CHERBY 24 January 1757 in Lavaltrie, Canada, New France .  Thérèse CHERBY  was born 26 June 1736 in Montréal, Québec, Canada (Sault-au-Récollet) (Côte-St-Michel) (Côte-St-Paul).  Thérèse died 3 March 1773 in L'Assomption, Québec, Canada (St-Pierre-du-Portage).  Thérèse was the child of Guillaume CHEARBY (CHERBY) and Marie-Anne MILLET.
