Jean Baptiste Lereau, son of Louis Lereau Dit L'heureux (1726- ) and Marie Josèphe Auclair Dit Desnoyers (1730 – 1798), was born Feb 2, 1755 in Charlesbourg, Quebec. He married Madeleine Casavant-Ladebauche, September 21, 1778 at St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, St-Hyacinthe, Quebec. She was the daughter of Pierre Casavant-Ladebauche (1723 – ) and Marie-Anne Pion Fontaine (1716 – 1795).
