Jean-Baptiste HERPIN (ARPIN) dit POITEVIN  was born 28 September 1751 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Jean-Baptiste was the child of René-Guillaume HERPIN (ARPIN) dit POITEVIN and Thérèse BAUDREAU dite GRAVELINE.
