Obituary
EGAN, John John Egan, 60, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Meriden and Newington, died peacefully at Moses Cone Hospital Monday (September 10, 2007) after a three year battle with cancer. John will be remembered for his courageous spirit and 'never give up' attitude. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Philip Stringer at The Lutheran Church of our Father, 3304 Groometown Rd., Greensboro, on September 13 at 1 p.m., followed by inurnment in the church columbarium. John was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and formerly employed by the Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company in Hartford. He enjoyed golfing and had a passion for birding that led to his selection to serve as president of the Audubon Society in Hartford. In addition, he was active in his church and served as the OFLC treasurer for several years. Survivors include his loving wife, Jan; daughter Jennifer Shalom of Cumming, GA and her husband, Wayne, and their children, Nathan and Joshua; mother Barbara Egan...Read MORE...
