Marie-Jeanne SOULIERES dite SUSTIER  was born 3 April 1711 in Québec, Québec, Canada (Quebec City).  Marie-Jeanne died 11 November 1747 in L'Assomption, Québec, Canada (St-Pierre-du-Portage).  Marie-Jeanne was the child of Nicolas SOULIERES (SUSTIER) dit TRANCHEMONTAGNE and Marie-Marguerite LEBLANC.

Joseph  married  (2) Marguerite BARBE dite ABEL 3 February 1749 in Rivière-des-Prairies, Montréal, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Marguerite BARBE dite ABEL  was born 18 April 1717 in Rivière-des-Prairies, Montréal, Québec, Canada (Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rivière-des-Prairies)*.  Marguerite died 10 February 1752 in L'Assomption, Québec, Canada (St-Pierre-du-Portage).  Marguerite was the child of Joseph Abel BARBE (BEARD) and Marguerite DESJARDINS dite CHARBONNIER.

Joseph  married  (3) Marie-Angelique BEAUDOIN 9 July 1753 in L'Assomption, Canada, New France .  Marie-Angelique BEAUDOIN  was born 15 May 1706 in Repentigny, Québec, Canada (La Purification-de-Repentigny) (St-Paul-l'Hermite).  Marie-Angelique was the child of Jacques BAUDOIN (BEAUDOIN) and Marie-Marguerite LARIVIERE.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
