1953 - On July 27, 1953, the Korean War ended with the signing of an armistice agreement at Panmunjom. Deceased Name: Doris A. Viggers

Doris A. (White) Viggers, 70, of Mill Hollow Apartments, Jabish Street, died Wednesday at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. She was an attendant at the former Belchertown State School for many years. Born in Thompsonville, Enfield, she was a longtime resident here. She attended the Congregational Church. Her husband, Frederick Viggers, died last year. She leaves two sons, Frederick Crouss of Belchertown and Randall Crouss of Otis; two daughters, Laurel Ward of Chicopee and Judith Samson of Belchertown; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service Monday morning at the church, and the burial will be at the convenience of the family. Beers & Story Funeral Home is in charge, and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Massachusetts Inc., 1 Armory Square, Springfield, Mass., 01105.
