Marie-Agathe  married  Jean-Baptiste SUREAU dit BLONDIN 27 February 1786 in Saint-Laurent, Montréal, Province of Québec, Canada .  Jean-Baptiste SUREAU dit BLONDIN  was born 19 April 1749 in Pointe-Claire, Montréal, Québec, Canada (Saint-Joachim-de-la-Pointe-Claire).  Jean-Baptiste died 11 September 1813 in Rigaud, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Madeleine-de-Rigaud).  Jean-Baptiste was the child of Jean-Baptiste SUREAU dit BLONDIN and Marie-Anne BRAZEAU.

Marie-Agathe  married  (2) Augustin PLOUFFE 25 August 1817 in Saint-Benoît, Mirabel, Lower Canada .  Augustin PLOUFFE  was born 2 August 1759 in Saint-Laurent, Montréal, Québec, Canada.  Augustin died 16 August 1828 in Saint-Benoît, Mirabel, Québec, Canada.  Augustin was the child of Augustin PLOUFFE and Marie-Charlotte ROBIDOUX (ROBIDOU).

Marie-Agathe  married  (3) Jean-Baptiste GROULX 23 November 1829 in Mirabel, Lower Canada .  Jean-Baptiste GROULX  was born 30 June 1755 in Saint-Laurent, Montréal, Québec, Canada.  Jean-Baptiste was the child of Jean GROULX and Therese LORRAIN.

Marie-Agathe CHARPENTIER dite LAPAILLE died 27 June 1832 in Saint-Benoît, Mirabel, Lower Canada.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
