Francois  married  Marie-Louise GRENET 5 October 1744 in Lauzon, Lévis, Canada, New France .  Marie-Louise GRENET  was born 5 August 1709 in Lauzon, Lévis, Québec, Canada (Saint-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-de-Lévy).  Marie-Louise died 18 February 1770 in Beaumont, Québec, Canada (Saint-Étienne-de-Beaumont).  Marie-Louise was the child of Jean-Baptiste GRENET and Marguerite HUARD.

Francois  married  (2) Marie-Charlotte SUZOR 3 September 1770 in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, Province of Québec, Canada .  Marie-Charlotte SUZOR  was born 18 February 1742 in Montmagny, Québec, Canada (Saint-Thomas) (Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire).  Marie-Charlotte died 6 May 1806 in Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse, Québec, Canada .  Marie-Charlotte was the child of François SUZOR and Marie-Charlotte COUTURE.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
