Jean-Baptiste  married  Françoise CARON 12 February 1798 in Louiseville, Lower Canada .  Françoise CARON  was born 18 January 1776 in La Pocatière, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatiere).  Françoise died 10 May 1855 in Saint-Guillaume, Québec, Canada (Saint-Guillaume-d'Upton).  Françoise was the child of Ignace CARON and Marie Anne THIBODEAU.

Jean-Baptiste MELANCON died 29 August 1846 in Louiseville, Canada East .
