"Jeanne was raised by Marguerite Bourgeoys. She lived with the nuns beginning at the age of 4 and one half until her marriage. She was the first daughter of the French nation, born at Montreal, who was married and became a mother of a family. She married Jean Beauchamp, 28 years old, on 23 November 1666, at Notre-Dame de Montreal, and knew the joys of 8 births. She was buried on 4 October 1708."

(2) Jean Beauchamp-LePetit, 23 Nov 1666, Rivière-des-Prairies, Montreal, QC; b. 08 May 1644, Ste-Marguerite, La Rochelle, Aunis, France; d. 04 May 1700, Pointe-aux-Trembles, QC.

Marguerite Bourgeoys would found the Congrégation de Notre-Dame, Montreal’s first school, in 1653. Jeanne Loisel, Louis Loisel and Marguerite Charlot’s oldest daughter, was the first non-native child born in Canada to survive to marry in adult hood, she also became the first non-native child to attend Marguerite Bourgeoys’ school.'
