BAVIER, Raymond C., passed away October 13, 2014. He was born September 4, 1924 in Hartford, Conn. He graduated from High School in Hartford, Conn and on April 9, 1943 joined the military. During WWII Raymond served as a military policeman in American Zone of occupied Berlin. He assisted civilian police in making civilian and US troops comply with military laws and regulations and made arrest of violators. He did routine guard and patrol work, sought black market offenders, participated vice raids, checked passes, handled traffic and did similar work. He drove jeeps and other light vehicles. Raymond also operated motorcycles while acting as an escort for high allied military officials. He served 7 months with 759th Military Police BN. He participated in 2 major European Campaigns. He retired from Dearborn Police Department in 1975 and moved to Florida where he made that his home. He was preceded in death by brother, Walter Bavier; sisters, Jean Richardson, Ella Avakian; daughter, Barbara Diane. Survivors: his beloved wife, Karen whom he married Dec 1, 1994; 2 sons, Larry(Linda) Bavier, Rick (Bonnie) Bavier; grandson, Bryan Bavier. A private service will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
