François PELOQUIN dit CREDIT
Biography

From Peloquin Family History -
"Mathurin Pelloquin and Ambroise Syllard were married on 1 July 1658 in the church of Saint-André. Mathurin's parents were Mathurin Pelloquin and Francoise Chastigné. Ambroise was the daughter of Guillaume Syllard and Ambroise Barbaut. She was born in Niort on 9 December 1634. The priest, Louis Pelloquin, who prepared the marriage certificate recorded Mathurin's surname as 'Ploquin'. They had three children: Francois born around 1664, Marguerite born on 6 September 1669 and Phillippe born on 16 May 1672. Although there were many Pelloquin families in this region during the first half of the 17th century, their numbers decreased considerably by the end of the century."

"Francois married Marie Niquet in Cathedral de Trois-Rivieres, July 20, 1699. Marie died November 28, 1706 in Baie-du-Febvre, at 38 years of age. Her body was interred November 29, 1706 in Trois-Rivieres. Marie was born about 1668, and was the daughter of Pierre-Rene Niquet and Francoise Lemoine."
Pierre-Rene Niquet was the son of Michel Niquet and Catherine Montis
Francoise Lemoine was the daughter of Antoine Lemoine and Francoise de Lonquemeriere

"Francois was a member of les Troupes de la Marine and after settling down in civilian life could have been a member of some local defense group. However he was busy as a "fariner" - farmer - and father of a relatively large family since he had taken on bringing up Marie Nique'ts own progeny from a previous alliance. Francois resided in Baie du Febvre, Québec (Beauport), probably in an intermittant stage in Sorel and finally in St. Roch then known as le Grand St Ours where he died."
