WILLIAM BAKER

William Baker, 63, well known Smithfield resident, died suddenly yesterday while at work at the Esmond school, where he had been employed as a janitor for the last seven years.

He had been a resident of the Esmond section for the last 25 years and for many years was employed at the Esmond Mills in the filling department. Failing to return to his home near by yesterday, his wife went to the school to investigate and found hin near the basement stairs of the building.

Mr. Baker was born in Sutton, Mass., and came to Esmond from Hillsgrove, where he lived for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara (Amyot) Baker; one son, Joseph Baker of Paterson, N.J.; one sister, Mrs. George Plante of Esmond, and two brothers, Harry Baker of Hillsgrove and Charles Baker of Georgiaville.

The funeral will be held from his Esmond street home, Esmond, Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock. A solemn high mass of requiem will be sung at St. Michael's Church, Georgiaville, at 9. Interment will be in the Crompton Cemetery, Crompton.
