Joseph-Marie  married  Thérèse BOURGOIN 29 October 1743 in Lachenaie, Canada, New France .  Thérèse BOURGOIN  was born 20 June 1716 in Québec Province, Canada (Quebec).  Thérèse died 2 May 1751 in Mascouche, Québec, Canada (Saint-Henri-de-Mascouche).  Thérèse was the child of Pierre BOURGOIN and Marie-Madeleine CHENAY (CHAINE).

Joseph-Marie  married  (2) Marie DENOYON 7 October 1754 in Boucherville, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 2 children.
Marie DENOYON  was born abt. 1731 in Québec Province, Canada (Quebec).  Marie died 23 March 1773 in Mascouche, Québec, Canada (Saint-Henri-de-Mascouche).  Marie was the child of Jean-Baptiste DENOYON and Louise BLAIN dite HABLIN.

Joseph-Marie  married  (3) Geneviève LANDRY 11 October 1773 in Mascouche, Province of Québec, Canada .  Geneviève LANDRY  was born 27 February 1731 in Saint-François-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Québec, Canada.  Geneviève died 1 April 1812 in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Québec, Canada.  Geneviève was the child of Charles LANDRY and Marie-Madeleine-Therese GUERARD.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
