Biography
'Marie-Renee, born on the 29th and baptized at Charlesbourg on 31 December 1682. Married in this parish on 9 February 1699 (contract Duprac, 26 January), to Jean-Louis Boyer (1678-?), son of Etienne Boyer dit Lafontaine and of Marie-Therese Viel. At the age of ten, Jean-Louis was already in the employ of Mathieu Guay. At the time of his marriage he was said to be a resident of the grand Saint-Antoine, in Charlesboug. What became of Jean-Louis and Marie-Renee after their marriage? They were not mentioned in the division of Michel Chretien's property at the time of the donation which the latter made to his son Jean in 1700. Had they left the country? Had they been the victims of an epidemic?'
