'Robert, born on Jan. 16, 1705/ 6, died 1757. Married Sarah Smith (-1794) and they lived at Liberty Plain in Hingham. They had ten children, all born in Hingham: Joshua (1738-), Robert (1739-), Jacob (1741-1840), Infant (1743), Jeremiah (1745), Sarah (1746-1755), Mary (1749), March 1751-1752), Joseph (twin) (1755-1756), Marcy (twin) (1755-1829). Jacob and Joshua served in the Revolutionary War and were part of part of the 36th Regiment of Foot under Gen. Heath in 1775. Jacob was also part of Col. Lyman’s regiment that was one of the artillery units whose occupation of Dorchester Heights forced the British to evacuate Boston. Joshua was later part of the unsuccessful attempt to invade Canada in 1776 with his cousin Jesse. Jacob is listed as head of household in the 1800 US Census in Bridgewater and Joshua in Hingham.'
