Born in Bessmay, Texas, Andrew Douglas Johnson peacefully passed away on April 6, 2004.

He faithfully served the Lord as a Deacon of St. John's Baptist Church for 40 years.

Andrew served in the U.S. Military for 20 years, retiring in 1967 as a Sergeant.

He returned to work at the Bethel School District and retired in 1991.

Andrew enjoyed fishing, hunting and, most importantly, the task of being a loyal husband, adoring father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Emma Lee 'Honey' Johnson, his loving wife of 52 years, survives him, as well as two sons, Andrew Wesley and Dennis, three daughters, Gayle Johnson-Matthews (Virgil), Princilla Dinish (Dominic), Tina Asagai (Robert); eight grandchildren, Orenthal, Olaunda, Virgil, Jamala, Marquis, Dawn, Robby, Malik; and two great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Jadah.
