Biography
CYR - from 'sire', from the Latin 'senior' which means 'lord'. Ironic nickname given to someone who thinks he is a lord.

Pierre Cyr was born around 1644. Of unknown parentage, he married, around 1670, Marie Bourgeois, daughter of Jacques and Jeanne Trahan. From this union were born three children. Pierre Cyr lives with his family in Port-Royal, then in Beaubassin, in Acadie. Exercising the profession of gunsmith, he has no land to till, but he has 11 horned animals and 6 ewes. On June 18, 1670, he, along with other parishioners of Port-Royal, agreed to the construction of a church. He died around 1679.
