Born and raised on the West End of Boston, Mass, my mother was one of 12 children born to Guiseppe and Rose (Bova) Pusateri. They were a poor family but with lots of love. My grandfather was said to be a stern man but could be jovial too at times. My grandmother was said to be very kind and generous and made the best meatballs that anyone in the family had ever tasted. The family stayed close together even after my grandparents died, some even living together or at least in the same building. I believe my Aunt Margaret and my Aunt Connie Pusateri, the oldest and the youngest siblings always lived together, from the day my Aunt Connie was born on December 8, 1933 until the day my Aunt Margaret died on July 4, 2000. The saddest part is that after my grandmother died, the family lost touch with the Bova and Longo side of the family. I would love to repair that long lost relationship with my family if i could.
