Josephine Baker was a remarkable woman who led an extraordinary life. Born Freda Josephine McDonald on June 3, 1906, in St. Louis, Missouri, she later became known as Josephine Baker, an iconic figure in the world of entertainment, activism, and civil rights.

Josephine's early life was far from glamorous. Growing up in poverty, she faced racial discrimination and limited opportunities. At just 13 years old, she left home and began performing on the streets of St. Louis. Her big break came when she joined a traveling dance troupe and moved to New York City in the 1920s.

In the Big Apple, Baker found success in the world of vaudeville and Broadway. Her breakthrough came when she was recruited to join the groundbreaking musical 'Shuffle Along.' However, it was in Paris that she truly became a star. In 1925, at the age of 19, she sailed to France and found herself captivated by the city's vibrant cultural scene.

Initially used in commercial settings, microwaves becomes affordable for home use by the 1960s and 1970s, revolutionizing cooking.
Invention The cell phone was invented by Martin Cooper of Motorola. On April 3, 1973, he made the first handheld mobile phone call with the Motorola DynaTAC. This device weighed 2.5 pounds and was 10 inches long, offering 30 minutes of talk time and requiring 10 hours to charge. The first commercial cell phone was released in 1983, revolutionizing communication and leading to the modern smartphones we use today.
